ParentSquare Resources for Staff
Welcome to ParentSquare, Our New Communication Platform for G-PISD!
Gregory-Portland ISD is transitioning from Remind to ParentSquare, a unified communication platform designed to keep teachers, staff, and families connected in one secure place. ParentSquare allows teachers and administrators to engage with parents through direct messages, updates, alerts, and posts or newsletters, all from a single, easy-to-use system.
This webpage provides key information, resources, and FAQs to help you successfully transition to ParentSquare. G-PISD has fully transitioned away from SchoolMessenger and is now moving from Remind to ParentSquare as our unified communication platform. All teachers and staff should complete their transition to ParentSquare by January 1, 2026. Please review the information below to help guide you through this change.

Personal Account Settings
The first thing you should do is customize your account settings to choose your notification preferences and language settings.
Overview:
Messaging
In Remind, you would start by clicking “New Message” and then choose your audience and message type. In ParentSquare, you begin by selecting the type of message you want to send first.
- Direct Messages - For one-on-one or small group conversations. They replace individual chats and group messages.
- Posts - These will become your primary tool for one-to-many communications, replacing announcements. Recipients can comment on Posts, but don’t send replies directly to you.

Groups
Teachers’ classes will be synced automatically from your student information system, no class setup required! Manually created classes are called Groups in ParentSquare. Teachers with active classes can create groups for sports teams, clubs, special events, PTA/PTO, programs, committees, and anything else they need.
- How to Create Groups
- Add Group Members - There are several ways to add people to groups.
