May 19, 2017 - Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) has established a Project Construction Advisory Group as part of its Good Neighbor Program, and as agreed in its recently established Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the G-PISD School Board.
Representatives and public officials from local cities and counties will serve in this group, discussing issues related to traffic, community impacts, and project construction.
Until the G-PISD Board of Trustees is able to appoint a representative, Superintendent Dr. Paul Clore will attend meetings for this group. He will ensure that all community concerns he is aware of are addressed. For example, he plans to present a recent question presented this week by the Portland Citizens United (PCU) group following their own review of GCGV's Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) application. This concern is related to control technology, and the level of protection it will provide to limit emissions.
Environmental concerns, as well as others, will continue to be a focus of the school district as it pertains to student safety at campuses near the project site. Any necessary updates will be posted to this web page.
