G-PISD announced as H-E-B Small District Award Winner!

Following a rigorous nomination, application, and in-person interview process across multiple campuses with a panel of state-renown educational leaders, Gregory-Portland ISD emerged as the overall winner of the 2024 Small District Award presented by the H-E-B Excellence in Education program. This prestigious recognition was announced at a dinner hosted by H-E-B this month at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Houston, Texas.
“Without a doubt, it is our incredible team who made this possible,” said G-PISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle Cavazos. “They are passionate about serving our students and families, and they come to work each and every day motivated and ready to give their ‘all’ so that we can continue to rise and improve the many ways we educate, inspire, and empower our G-P Wildcats. I am so proud, and extremely humbled, to receive this honor on behalf of our entire team from the school board to our classroom teachers, hard-working staff in every department, administrators, volunteers, substitutes, and everyone who supports them in the G-P community.”
