GREGORY-PORTLAND INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
DISCIPLINARY ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Gregory-Portland ISD Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) is a program that provides students with an alternative educational setting after being removed from their home campus for violations of the G-PISD Student Code of Conduct. This program provides students with an opportunity to continue with their academic work with the expectation that their behavior will be acceptable to avoid out-of-school suspension or expulsion.
The G-PISD DAEP is under the authority of Board policy, the Student Code of Conduct, and the District Dress Code. Although not every detail can be covered in a handbook, efforts have been made here to provide the reader with an overview of what is expected of students at the G-PISD DAEP.
DAEP Hours
The school day for DAEP students is from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students will be required to arrive on time. Students will not be admitted after school begins and will be counted absent. The outside doors will be locked at 8:00 a.m. Parents must call prior to 8:00 a.m. to notify the school of any legitimate reason the student will be arriving late and will need to provide appropriate documentation.
