Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope this post finds you safe and well. I know the past several months have been challenging in so many ways. I wish that we could start off the year in person, and that I could be able to meet all of my students face-to-face. Unfortunately, that isn't possible at this time, and we will have to do things differently, at least for the start of this school year. I can assure you that I will do my best to get to know each of my students, and pass on my love of learning to them. I will be updating this page throughout the year with information regarding my Geometry class, as well as important school information, functions, and events. If you have questions at any time, please don't hesitate to contact me. I can be reached via email at scarrell@g-pisd.org as well as in the chat or meeting functions in TEAMS. I look forward to getting to know the kids, and making it a successful school year!

Bio
I have been a teacher for 7 years and this will be my second year at Gregory-Portland High School. I love being a Wildcat because there is a sense of family that exists in our community and school, which you can't just find anywhere. My husband and I both grew up in the Coastal Bend and both of us are Math teachers. We live in Corpus Christi and we have two sons. My oldest son is in 2nd grade and my youngest is 1 year old. I love being a teacher because I get to spend time working with amazing kids who make me excited for the future! My first year teaching I taught 5th grade math, then I spent 6 years teaching 8th grade math and Algebra 1, and now I teach Geometry and Algebra 1. I've always loved math and I try to make it enjoyable even for those who may not agree! I love to take road trips, music, reading, spending time with my family and friends, crocheting, and coffee!
