Hi WLC and DAEP students, parents, and guardians!  I know practicing social distancing can be difficult, especially when students are trying to learn Physics, Chemistry, and so on.  I want you all to know that I am here for you all!  I can be reached via email at sbraly@g-pisd.org and I have set up Calendly and Zoom, as well.  Calendly will allow you all to schedule a time to meet with me outside of my everyday Zoom meetings.  You can access my Calendly site at Calendly.com/sbraly.  Calendly is also linked to my Zoom account, so it is an easy way to gain access to my daily Zoom meetings or you use the following links.

For WLC students, I am available on weekdays from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

For DAEP students, I am available on weekdays from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

DAEP students will need a password to access the meeting for confidentiality.  Please email me for the password.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you in any way that I can!

Ms. Sarah Braly

Bio

This is my 6th year teaching science courses at the Wildcat Learning Center and DAEP, 10th year as an educator, and I am ready for the best year yet.  I have recently completed my Master's degree through an online platform, so I can relate to the unique needs of our students at WLC.  At our campus, we have such a wonderful opportunity to customize education to meet each individual students' needs, and I am thrilled to have the privilege of using this platform to help students.  With my marine biology background, I hope to inspire and engage my students in all of the sciences while helping them make real-world connections.

CLASS INFORMATION:

I aid students in their understanding of all science content from grades 6-12 for our students at WLC and DAEP.  At any time, my students can log in to Odysseyware to show a current average and course percent completion.  Parents, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about your student's progress and achievement.

Hello WLC students!  I have created a Google Classroom for all of the Science Courses and electives that I teach.  In the Google Classroom under classwork are explanations to all of my alternative projects that you may choose to do instead of the Odysseyware course assigned.  You may choose to do any of the projects to replace parts of your Odysseyware courses or do the course work as assigned in Odysseyware.  Having options like these allows you to customize your education experience here at WLC.

To join Google Classroom, you will open up Google Chrome and click on the circle in the top right corner to log in to your student Google account which is the same thing you use to log in to your Chromebooks in class.  Then you will click on the Google apps next to the log in circle (it looks like a square with nine dots).  You will see Google Classroom listed as an app.  Once in Google Classroom, you will select the role of student and then click on the plus sign in the top right to join a class.  My class code is f31k3as.

I've started with just the projects, but plan on adding tutorial resources and notes for each of the science courses as well.  ENJOY!

Hi WLC Students!  The following is a link to WLC's Student Success Rubric.  This tool is meant to help you self-reflect on the effort you put in at school each week.  Please fill this rubric out at the end of the week each week.  Your score will be compared with your weekly progress to help you gain perspective in how your efforts affect your success.  This will help you build a work ethic that will aid in your success, not only in obtaining your high school diploma, but in life after high school.

Each of my WLC students will be creating their own goals as to what they want to accomplish this school year.  We will look over what credits they have, what credits they will need to complete in order to graduate this school year.  From this, we can calculate a percentage of coursework that needs to be completed on Odysseyware each week in order for our students to meet their goals.  Parents, please ask your student what his or her goal for the year and weekly goal will be, and feel free to check his or her progress in Odysseyware to see if he or she is meeting that goal.  Also, feel free to contact me anytime and I will gladly share any information about your student's progress.  I track each student's weekly course percentage completion to track how much progress each student makes each week in every course they are enrolled in.  I share this information in weekly data meetings with each student, and will gladly share with any interested parent or guardian.  I look forward to welcoming you all to the WLC/DAEP family and working with all of you this year!
