Construction Updates

MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL

Without a doubt, it's an exciting time to be a Wildcat! And plenty of high school construction projects to get excited about. We've recently completed the AgriScience Facility, including the project center and greenhouse, to complement the CTE building that opened the 2021-22 school year. The perimeter fencing project has been completing, providing better security for students and staff. The entrance canopied have been replaced and upgraded, and take a look at the amazing entry structure that finally makes clear the location of the high school's front door! Classroom furniture has been replaced and upgraded. Perhaps not as noticeable from the street, but the roof has also been replaced.

Currently, we're in Phase II of HVAC improvements and door locks and hardware are being replaced. And there is no way that you can miss the new baseball, softball, and all-purpose practice facility going up across the the street.

And we have new projects that are starting soon. The cafeteria is being expanded and renovated. The fine arts wing is also being renovated and a new band hall addition is being added. The Harris building is getting a roof replacement. And the school's interior will be repainted for the first time since it opened over 20 years ago. These new projects are definitely exciting, but unfortunately there's no magic wand that can be waved to have them completed instantly. Students, families, and staff will spend a large part of their days working around and beside construction projects.

The band hall and cafeteria additions will start December 2 of this school year. Renovations to the existing fine arts wing and existing cafeteria will start June 1, 2025.

As projects continue, the high school administration will continue to update everyone about their statuses, changes to their timelines, and when they require us to do something a little different to accommodate them. Some classes might be moved soon. Bell schedules and master schedules might be different for the next school year. Students will likely eat lunch somewhere different. It's not always going to be easy, but our students and staff are resilient. They won't just survive the inconvenience, but they will continue to thrive. And the payoff will be worth it!
