Congratulations to Dale Loveland and Rev Wicks for winning the Ragin' Rattler Boys Doubles Championship last Friday in San Marcos!

Also, Nick Loveland and Noah Celeski were Consolation Champs in Doubles.

Addison Cluff was Consolation Champion in Singles.

Hunter Sowell was a Singles Semifinalist.

Ava Hansen was a Cons. Finalist in Singles.

Academic Decathlon

Last weekend nine of our students competed in the Academic Decathlon.  Please congratulate the following medal winners!

Honors:
Gold Medal for Team Points- Elisabeth Miller
Silver Medal for Economics- Elisabeth Miller
Silver Medal for Interview- Chance Hardwick
Bronze Medal for Speech- Elisabeth Miller
Bronze Medal for Science- Elisabeth Miller

Scholastic:
Gold Medal for Team Points- Aleena Roy
Gold Medal for Economics- Aleena Roy
Bronze Medal for Math-Aleena Roy

Varsity:
Gold Medal for Team Points- Damien Quesada
Bronze Medal for Economics- Damien Quesada

GPHS had a really successful showing this year at the A&H Show.  This is the 5th year in a row that GP has placed #1 in County for Fabric Painting.  ❤️

A summary sheet is attached of all the students that placed in County this year (25 in all), along with any special awards that they may have received.  

Some special mentions include the following: 

Violet (Lola) Trent - 1st in County for her fine art pencil drawing.  She also won a San Patricio County Farm Bureau award and a Belt Buckle for her entry into Reserve Sweepstakes. 

Terrell (T.J.) Elliot - 1st in County for his watercolor painting.  T.J. made his paint using crushed flowers. 

Olivia Berger - 1st in County in Textile Division for blanket.  Her crocheted item also won 4th in the San Patricio County Farm Bureau.  She also received an award from the Corpus Christi Quilt & Needle Guild. 

Ashley Berlanga - 2nd in County for Dress in Clothing Division.  She actually HAND-SEWED her dress.  Not only did she win a Sew-Ciety Award, but she also received the ONLY Heirloom Elegance Award - AND - she won a new sewing machine! 

Kendall Post - 1st in County for Pants in Clothing Division.  She won a Sew-Ciety Award as well as 5th in the San Patricio County Farm Bureau.  

Makayla Rodriguez - 1st in County for Afghans in the Textile Division.  She also won a Corpus Christi Quilt & Needle Guild Award as well as 3rd in the San Patricio County Farm Bureau.

Academic & CTE Showcase - Feb 8 - Come Join Us
G-P Culinary Arts - FCCLA Regional Culinary Competiton

Our GP Culinary Arts competed in the FCCLA Regional Culinary competition Thursday and Friday at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. There was among 40 schools and draws of 30 to 40 in each of the divisions, we finished 3rd and 4th in Mystery Basket and Cupcake Battle. These 3 students will move on to Culinary State competition in Dallas, Tx at the end of March.
