G-PISD offers Free Curbside Meals for 18 & Younger
Service provided until Friday, June 26, 2020
Meals are now available for pick up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on ONLY Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:
- Monday Pick-Up includes Monday lunch, Tuesday breakfast and lunch, and Wednesday breakfast.
- Wednesday Pick-Up includes Wednesday lunch, Thursday breakfast and lunch, Friday breakfast; and
- Friday Pick-Up includes Friday lunch, Saturday breakfast and lunch, Sunday breakfast and lunch. and Monday breakfast.
Gregory-Portland ISD was notified this week that the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and Texas Dept. of Agriculture will provide a reimbursement program for school districts so that weekend meals can, once again, be offered. We hope this will aid in social distancing as well as less travel for families.
“NO CONTACT” PICK-UP METHOD for SOCIAL DISTANCING:
For overall public safety, we are employing a No Contact Pick-Up process. Please follow these directions to pick up meals going forward:
1.When you arrive at the beginning of the line, it will not be necessary to roll down your window. Place a paper on your dashboard/in the windshield showing how many students/meals you need and what flavor of milk preferred. Remember, meals are only available for students 18 and younger.
2.Students must be present to receive a meal. If student is not present, you must place one of the following in the windshield for each child/meal.
a. Student report card
b. Attendance record from Skyward with student ID number
c. Birth Certificate for children not in school
d. Student ID card (grades 6th -12th )
3.Once you are at the pick-up site, open your trunk, hatchback or truck bed and your meals will be placed inside your vehicle.

How to Pick Up a Free Child Meal:
In response to recent school closure, Gregory-Portland ISD is providing free meals for children ages 18 and younger. It will not be necessary to enter the building. Meals will be brought directly to your vehicle (per "NO CONTACT" procedure listed above), and they can be picked up at the following locations:
S. F. Austin Elementary | 308 N. Gregory Ave., Gregory, Texas 78359
T. M. Clark Elementary | 2250 Memorial Parkway Portland, Texas 78374
TO PICK-UP: Please enter the teacher parking lot. Meals will be distributed at the cafeteria entrance.
Student(s)/Children must be present (arriving in person) in order to receive a free meal OR if not present, verification must be provided (see procedures above). Meals will be provided for those 18 years and younger. We are not able to provide meals for adults. Thank you!
