TEA to Soon Release 2023 Accountability Ratings

Family Notice

Due to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) STAAR Redesign, student results for Spring 2023 have been released from the State of Texas later than in previous years. On Thursday, April 3, 2025, a judge ruled in favor of allowing the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to move forward with releasing the 2023 accountability ratings, overturning the previous injunction. While the TEA website currently lists the issuance of the 2023 and 2024 ratings as “pending and subject to change,” we now know the release is expected by the end of next week.

As you know, G-P outperformed our region and the state and we are continuing to grow our students academically and in extra-curriculars. We have communicated our achievement results at board meetings, during State of the District, and in conversations/ meetings throughout our community, however we did not have an official "rating" to report. Once they are published, we will share them with you. CLICK HERE to learn more about how G-PISD has continued to prioritize student success and meet accountability goals across all campuses.

We will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available. Thank you for your continued support of our Wildcats and all the people who make their success possible!

Continuing to Improve Instructional Delivery and Curriculum

Internally, we used the achievement results to improve our instructional delivery and curriculum. Since 2023, Gregory-Portland ISD has taken deliberate, data-informed steps to improve educational outcomes and meet accountability goals across all campuses. The district’s efforts align with its five key strategic priorities and are grounded in instructional excellence and whole-child development.

Some of the specific actions G-PISD took were:

  • Implemented Amplify ELAR in grades K–8 with increased focus on high-quality instructional practices.

  • Continued the implementation of Eureka Math K–8 with deeper focus on instructional quality.

  • Provided ongoing, consistent feedback to teachers on instruction to elevate instructional delivery through coaching and walk-through visits.

  • Executed an assessment and data plan to monitor content growth, respond to areas of need, and inform teaching.

  • Designed and implemented targeted strategies to close performance gaps among student groups.

  • Developed common planning time across elementary schools.

  • Implemented College & Career Labs at the middle school level to enhance pathways.

  • Expanded access to dual-credit courses to increase postsecondary readiness.
