FALL GT FIELD TRIPS

Where: Barnes and Noble / Cici’s Pizza

Day: October 10 (Friday)

Time: 4:30- 10pm

Transportation: School bus – meet and pick up in front of jr. high school

Money needed: Bus is paid for by GT. Bring your own money for shopping and dinner.

 Where:   King High School Planetarium

Day: October 21 (Tuesday)

Time: 4:30- 9pm

Transportation: School bus – meet and pick up in front of jr. high school

Money needed: Bus and admission is paid for by GT. Bring your own money for a quick DQ dinner.

Where:  Little Shop of Horrors at the Harbor Playhouse

Day: October 25 (Saturday)

Time:  5:00-10:30pm

Transportation: School bus – meet and pick up in front of jr. high school

Money needed: Bus is paid for by GT. Bring money for snacks at concession stand.

TICKETS are $10 and must be paid for in advance by Oct. 15.

 

Where:  Texas Renaissance Festival near Houston

Day: November 5 (Wednesday) School approved field trip – will not be counted absent

Time: 6:30am – 10:30pm

Transportation: Daisy Charter Bus – meet and pick up in front of jr. high school

Money needed: Bus and admission is paid for by GT. Bring money for souvenirs and food.

Where:  GP High School Auditorium – Addams Family theatre performance

Day: November 20 (Thursday)

Time: 4:30- 10pm

We will have pizza and watch old Addams Family shows in Reininger’s room, then walk over to the show

Transportation:   walking from jr.  high across the street to auditorium, pick up kids at high school

Money needed: Bring $5 to pitch in for pizza and drinks. TICKETS are $7 and must be paid for in advance by Nov.7.

 

Where:  Harbor Playhouse - Oliver

Day:  Dec. 7 (Sunday)

Time: 1—5pm

Transportation: School bus – meet and pick up in front of jr. high school

Money needed: Bus is paid for by GT. Bring money for concession stand.

 TICKETS are $10 and must be paid for in advance by  Nov.24

          10 Things You Should Know About the GT program at GP Junior High

1. Laura Reininger is the GT Campus Coordinator - more detailed information about GT will be continually updated on her webpage found under ELA-7th grade.

2. GT English teachers are Laura Reininger for 7th grade; Steven Robbins and Kerri Grumbles for 8th.

3. GT Science teachers are Janie Mendez for 7th grade and Natalee Barnard for 8th.

4. GT History teachers are Laurie Turner for 7th grade and Laurie Schipper for 8th.

5. GT Math teachers will be announced in August.

6. GT students will be meeting once a week on Wednesdays during their English class (2nd, 4th or 6th period).


7. GT students will have multiple field trips throughout the school year - mostly afterschool and on weekends.

8. GT students will have multiple opportunities to compete in academics and other contests including Destination Imagination, UIL Academics in Math, Science, History, English, Literature, and Speaking events.

9. GT students will be participating in community service projects and having community members as mentors.

10. The GT program strives to challenge our students to reach their highest potential.
