Both seventh and eighth grade students may be invited to be inducted into NJHS.
Seventh graders:
*will be inducted to participate in the Fall of 2013-2014 club activities.
*will be inducted and awarded a certificate and pin to commemorate their academic achievement.
*will be expected to maintain good conduct that supports the ideals represented by the honor society.
*may begin accumulating service hours (independently) immediately following induction. They will not receive "activity credits" for the current school year.
*will be meeting sometime in May to elect officers for the 2013-2014 school year.
Eighth graders:
*will be inducted and awarded a certificate and pin to commemorate their academic achievement.
*will be expected to maintain good conduct that supports the ideals represented by the honor society.
*will not be responsible for completing the usual community service or activity credit requirements.

NJHS members have been earning and recording community service hours during the summer. Many students have already earned their minimum service hour requirements for the school year! A minimum of ten hours are due by April 1, 2013.
In addition to service hours, members are required to log at least 5 "activity credits" during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Community Service is voluntary work that is usually performed for a non-profit organization and is intended to be performed for the common good. A record of the service should include a brief description of the service performed, date, time served, and the signature of an adult to verify the record. Letters from the participating organizations are often provided and may be attached to the NJHS member's "Log Sheet".
Activity Credits are earned throughout the year when we work together as a chapter to accomplish a service goal. Members are usually required to "sign-in" when they arrive to a scheduled activity. This signature will verify the activity that they have recorded on their "Log Sheet". Members may also have their "Log Sheet" signed by the adviser or another adult who can verify their participation.

Boys bring:
* 3 doz. cookies
* 2 liter Sprite
Girls bring:
*3 doz. cookies
* 1 gal. fruit punch
Officers bring:
*3 dozen cookies
*1 lg. can pineapple juice
Be sure to place your items in the teacher's lounge before 6p.m. on Thursday, April 18th.
