The Gregory-Portland Assessment Department is responsible for all State and locally administered curriculum based assessments from grades PK-12.

The goals of the student assessment program are the following:

  • to provide data-informed feedback to students so that they can analyze what they have learned and what they still have to learn for a particular course, grade level, or bundle of instruction.
  • to provide data-informed feedback to parents about the academic progress of their child in our school system.
  • to provide data-informed feedback to teachers about students’ learning so that delivery methods can be altered or enhanced to create more effective teaching and learning.
  • to provide feedback to administrators regarding the effectiveness of curriculum delivery, which will identify the teachers who are in need of additional coaching in the effective delivery of the district’s curriculum.
  • to provide data-informed feedback to the Curriculum and Instruction Department regarding the effectiveness of the curriculum design instruction and instructional programs in the District.

The assessment staff is responsible for all testing and dissemination of all testing reports.
